Playing Whiting as an extra back rower yesterday was clearly a tactic that worked very effectively and a good play from PG. It dawned on me yesterday that we only used 3 of our 4 subs, with Ellis not getting on the pitch, so clearly playing big minute forwards is in PG's plans.
With Ellis coming in, another player who has a good engine, are we preparing for a possible reduction to 8 subs? I know that it has been talked about and could be a situation which plays into our hands.

Not sure. With no Horne and no cover at hooker, Ellis was an obvious bench choice IMO. |

Could have been Bowden/Kent? I know we have an extra weekend to recover from now, but could have given them more game time/others a rest?
Not complaining! If anything I'm praising them more by beating Whinos by only using 3 subs! I guess Ellis was there incase Seymour, or anyone else, took a knock. |
