Whilst in a Tesco car park I spotted the Vehicle reg 1 WGN.
I cast my mind back to some of the great Wigan full backs and pondered whether any of them would have the ego
or the 'brass' to make a bid for this fantastic car registration ?

A fat middle aged guy with a tiny willy if I'm thinking of the same one, not an ex player. I ended up nose to nose with him after he tried and failed to overtake me in crawling traffic approaching a red traffic light before a game, then got out of his car and came stomping over as though he was going to do anything. |

I think it belonged to John Martin ex Wigan director, not sure if he's still got it though. I don't think Whelan was best pleased.

Can't see that when John Martin resigned from the board of Jack Robiinson and helped the Whelan campaign against Robinson, especially when he got a bonus of £25,000 off Whelan for doing so, on top of the £250,000 compensation for loss of the Riverside Club under theTesco deal.
