Why bother with a football match? OK, penalties are a test of skill when your one-on-one with the keeper, but most people and pundits say its down to luck anyway.

Was pure sporting theatre; a test of skill and nerve in front of a big crowd for a place in a European Cup Final.
At that level of Rugby Union, defensive structures are so well planned and executed that a Penalty shoot out was called for as neither side had enough energy - or halfbacks on the pitch (through injury) - to create a way through. Perhaps some of our SL coaches could look into working with some RU defensive coaches?

Irony as many Union teams use former RL Players/coaches as their defensive coaches.

I found it hard to believe that people could miss a goal from bang in front.

It's an immensely difficult skill for players who have never kicked a goal in their life.

I think Shaun Edwards, in particular, is a massive loss to Rugby League.
