Can't be any worse than the last coach? He has the experience, contacts in NRL & super league. He is also a very knowledgeable coach just not very charismatic which has been his main failing. He will do OK, but will he come if they are in the championship? As a KR fan I was happy that he was mentioned as a possible for us but we ended up with Sandercock! (now that would make you speechless). |

Mixed feelings at this - since whilst on one hand it means he's not replacing TS at Wires (phew) but on the other hand it means TS is still in charge at Wires (boo).

Yeah they would only an idiot would be judging him on his performance with a Bradford side being dismantled infront of his eyes 7 years ago. Since then he has done a decent job for England, been an assistant at a couple of NRL sides and far more than the usual suspects who get named or someone like Justin Holbrook or Michael Maguire before he came over.

| He might not turn this season round but I reckon he'll have them back where they should be next time (no, not the championship  ).
In fact the more I think about it the more I think he could do a job there. |

McNamarra is a good coach who demands professionalism from his players, something Catalans need. He made a lot of progress with England, who were a lot closer to winning a competition than when he took over. Unfortunately some fans unrealistically want instant success and will criticise anyone who doesn't deliver it. The same will happen with Wayne Bennett.
