Hello everyone!

I'm posting a complaint or if you like a 'heads up' about the TalkSport radio programme website... I went on to post a topic and you have to go through the obvious profile info. One of the questions was What's your favourite sport? You know Rugby League was NOT listed? I know the studios are in London but you can recieve it nationally. According to TalkSport Rugby League doesn't exsist??! They had Rugby listed so when I looked it was purely rara... I mean Rugby Union. Do with this what you will but I find it completely abhorrent!! Another example of how our sport is ignored by the mass media! I'm posting this on every site so all Rugby League fans can act!

Got to agree TT, I've not personally been on the TalkSport website, but what you describe is very much the same as many other radio, TV and print media news and sports news service providers.

Rugby League is very rarely given the publicity it deserves, I'm sure it's very much down to narrow minded people within the media biased towards rugby union. I'm not sure what can be done about it, but this is even evident on the BBC, where they do of course broadcast Rugby League Challenge Cup games.

Most Monday mornings I will have breakfast TV on and more often than not, there will be no mention of the previous days rugby league games on the sports news. If we can't even get a mention on the channels that broadcast our game, what chance do we have on those that don't?

It's times like this I wonder if we should just call the sport 'league' or something similar...
