I think a lot of people bemoaning lack of structure last year will be pleased with the difference now with Ackers, Croft and Frawley.

Maybe with Tom NW, Ruan and Goudemand in reserve we might get away with our props this season.

From RS comments it sounds like Hudson won’t play first grade anytime soon.

Enjoyable trip out to Leeds yesterday for the game and I think both coaches will be fairly happy with that. It was a good contest and hopefully both come out injury free but had enough intensity to make it worthwhile.

To me I was watching two teams who will certainly trouble a few this year, we had most of the first half with the wind, and you had most the second again with the wind. Thoughts Leeds execution was just slightly better than ours, and your half backs did a great job overall. The young lads who came on for you in the pack seemed pretty good, should give you some depth.

Best two players on the pitch were probably Hiku and Croft, which is what you’d expect from big name signings.

I think the key difference in watching Leeds from last year (granted only against KR or on sky) is that you looked a lot more organised. Ends to sets were better and structure was miles better, I wonder if Rohan has tried to smarten up a bit as a coach as well and stopped the Harlem globetrotter stuff and become a bit more direct.

Overall, decent game and I was worried about the over zealous reffin at the start of the year but it wasn’t too drastic yesterday I don’t think either

Decent performance in the end and more importantly I came away with a clear sense of how we are going to play. For the first time in a long time you could see there was a structure to our attack and Ackers and Frawley moved us around well with Croft picking his moment to add the ex factor. Frawley could be a very shrewd signing!

And in further good news, Sinfield is a good replacement for Frawley and McCormack for Croft (in time), so we can develop a kind of style which gets the team around.

I actually think Ackers has made a big impact already, very shrewd signing in theory.

That`s not very good considering the players on show.
Thought we would have had 6 or 7000 at least.
Then again it was pish poor weather leading up to the game.

It’s up to the team to win the big crowds back tbf. Terrible to watch back end of last year, and that’s what happens…..
