In contrast to jonh…I though that was a great fixture, and is miles better than putting 50odd on one of the other home nations or France.

I’m playing Masters rugby tomorrow.

Lots of ex pros playing.

It’s a local derby too.

It will be a very competitive game.

No it will be rubbish.

Tonight was a very low quality game. I appreciate that isn’t the real England team but if they can’t cope with a team that had 2 training sessions together there are issues.

The woman’s game was a much higher quality game in relation to skill than the men’s game and that finished 60-0.

It was a game of rugby league that I enjoyed watching. OK, it wasn't Penrith v the Storm, but it was a decent competitive contest, and the AS players deserve enormous credit. Which could, and should, be repaid by making this a proper stand-alone fixture next year. For me, if any players staked a claim for a place, it would have to be McGillvary, Oledski, and Knowles. ST showed why he must be first on the team-sheet.

The quality is never going to be top drawer…we moan about Super League being turd almost daily on here, so throwing two teams together from said league with a couple of training sessions is never going to suddenly become Origin, but it was competitive, and it clearly meant something to the players. All-in-all an entertaining game, albeit not the 85 cup final.

I really didn’t think it was entertaining either. I agree though it was competitive.

St Helens put the pin in this game. No league fixture and no Covid issues and they refused to release players for the All Stars and conveniently had Walmsley and Lomax pull out from the England squad. This is a club who carried a logo on the All Stars shirt, as a tip of the hat to being one of Mose Masoe’s previous clubs. Imagine letting down a past player in his current condition, to that degree.

Not sure I can recall feeling as disgusted in a club as I do with Saints tonight.

Knowles certainly put a shift in, although Golden Boot Makinson seldom got involved, but the reaction from the club doesn't look good.

Knowles was great.

St Helens should hang their heads tonight though. How they can look Masoe in the eye is beyond me. Laughable that the All Stars shirt carried a tribute to Masoe’s time at St Helens.
