Agree with all that, except FC academy has not produced one player since it was formed last year the same as ours. What happened before the joint academy is irrelevant they are both completely new set ups now so why is ours not as good?

They focused on players up to 25 years old, so some of those will have been 18 or 19 by the time CoHA was established. But I agree, teasing it apart is tricky. The panel did try though and came up with a set of numbers, fwiw. They haven’t been officially released but they’re out there in the wild, on popular video sharing sites etc.

It is unrealistic, but I would love to get John Bastian’s honest assessment of our previous set-ups over the last decade, and Hull’s as well. He must think there’s a decent pool of talent to have taken the job - and therefore also one or more reasons why that potential has not been fully realised.

2-year probationary licences for Rovers, Castleford and Bradford.

Possibly a bit of a headwind to recruiting to the scholarship with this apparent sword of Damocles hanging over us. However, if we can’t start to improve then having an academy isn’t very worthwhile anyway and the RFL won’t easily forget the reaction to this. Unless Bastian and Netherton actually start beating the kids with broom handles or something, it should be alright.

Probably my biggest fear is that we go all out to get our numbers up (shout outs to The Dead Milkmen and Jerreau) in the short-term by having another cycle of ‘patience’, giving players chances just because they are younger rather than better. If they are better as well, then great - but the academy should exist to support the first team, not the other way around.

Common sense or a massive U-turn, either way we got what we wanted and deserved in the end. I’m sure messers Pearson & Wilson have already been on the phone offering their congratulations.

I see our (now former) under-16s coach has celebrated his 10-year anniversary of leaving Rovers by mutual consent by leaving Rovers by mutual consent.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas

Great decision an absolute bell end, won't be missed, no idea why we ever gave him a job.

His only accolade is being one of the stupidest people in the world.

Wasn't even a very good player and would happily say all of that to his face if he wants to kick my booty for telling the truth.

What happened with, Cas’s does anybody know/recall? Or Bradford?
