I've watched West Wales a few times, they've been doing the same thing every game. Competing for 50 minute or so then really falling off. They look fitness and 2/3 players off being a competitive side, and if anything I'd say their forwards are too big up top (built more like union forwards) to carry around for 80 minutes without being supremely fit.

On our level, again there were things we could improve on but we do look like we can score from anywhere. The link up between Smeaton and Halliday was good to see, love a good centre/winger partnership. There's a few things I'd be tempted to shuffle about to get the best out of players. Personally I think that Beryl and Boas are both playing the roll of a 7, and we don't really have a 6. Johnston could do that and get Boas in either rotating at 9 (who played 9 when Whitmore wasn't on?) or at full back where he can take on the broken line which is is strongest asset.

Generally I think we are potentially building something good, the players individually are almost all doing a job, just think we need to link up better

Good post Jemmo, linking up should come with game time and familiarity (hopefully)

War does not determine who is right - only who is left.

Thank God I'm an atheist.

Another one that realises Ben Johnston needs a go at 6...just need Horne to see it.
Boas is not doing it as a 6
His kick to touch from a peno yesterday was shocking and had Beryl apoplectic in disgust.

I think having the likes of Johnstone and Pelts on the bench allow the introduction of pace and power into the game against tiring defences giving us a faster ruck.

Watson is quality , I agree we may not have seen the best of him yet, but he would be a useful option at full back and his speed around the ruck gives us options at hooker.

I'm sure RH will still be trying to find his best options so after three games in , I have no axe to grind with regards selection.

I don't think that way though...
I'm not one for saving the better players for later.
I believe that you start with your best...and Peltier would start and so would Ben Johnstone.
That s just me...I am not interested in jam tomorrow.
We have struggled in all 3 games early on and the introduction of impact players has not had much effect.
Keighley duffed us late on, Rochdale nearly duffed us late on and Rangi Chase went off when West Wales was well in the game.
Peltier and Johnston did their stuff late on, but I think Wales had drained the tank by then.
All just my take on it...not gospel.

My view of Johnstone is he came on in the 2nd half played at full back . As the half progressed our forwards were more dominant . He was therefore able to take advantage of a tired defence.

To be honest not there is much between Misi & Johnstone in the full back role , if we dominate we will be ok .

Just an opinion .

Valid points made there by Matty. Lets hope the focus is right for this Sunday at Derwent Park.
