I think they’ll have ironed out any potential issue before confirming the appointment anyway but if not he’d be one to keep an eye on. His form this season would be a worry for me. He’s not at his best and you want to make sure it’s not the start of a more permanent decline. He’s only 30 I believe but has been playing superleague in a tough position for a long time now.

I think that if he leaves castleford then he will follow Powell to Warrington as hill and cooper aren't getting any younger

The more I think about it, the more I wouldn't want him. Like you said he's bang out of form & he turns 31 in a couple of months. When you then add in his questionable disciplinary record (something moving to Wigan won't help him improve), his best days are firmly behind him.

Sadly when you look around the game as a whole, there's a real lack of top class props at the min. There's a handful of good ones, but when you compare it to the depth at FB, wing or HB there's certainly less to go around.

I can see him going to Wire if they have cap space & Cas want to let him go, although to be fair Watts would be 31 at the start of next season too. Younger than the other too, but old enough to think twice about spending big on a lengthy contract.

Might not be a popular opinion, but even if he were available I'd be wary of using too much of our new cap space on him at this point in time.

It always used to be said, though, that the English game produced plenty of good forwards, but no top-class halves. In some ways, if that's changed in direction a bit, I'm not sorry.
