RFL Madness : Tue Oct 13, 2020 1:40 pm
So today, it has been announced that the Hull FC v Hull KR match at the end of October will be played in.............St Helens!!

That makes sense doesn't it! 50 people travelling 3 hours across from a Tier 1 area, to a Tier 3 area when there are 2 stadiums in the City, one of which (The KCom) that has passed the risk assessments etc. in order for it to host a match this weekend in Super League.

It is completely insane

A tea lady would not be that far off her trolley.

Wakefield have announced a return to BV with Hull KR on October 25th, must be a short turnaround for them.

I know the first instinct is to reach for the pitchforks but did either of the Hull stadia proclaim themselves able to host and make an application to do so ?

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Frederick Douglas

Hull are playing games before this date at the KC, this is a Rovers home game, (thanks to ComeOnYouHull on the evil board for the clarification) even if Rovers can't be bothered / manage to be COVID -19 compliant, I really cannot see the point in going all the way to Sintellins, neither do i think Hudgell or Pearson would be so petty to take the game the wrong side of the hills.

Sky could be the issue in terms of which ground they set up at, but surely in that case Leeds would have been a better option!!

Sky are using just one ground as their base for each round. So Hull vs Hull KR going to St Helens may not make sense at first sight but if it were to be at the KC Stadium then the the other three games in the same round - including St Helens vs Wigan - would in turn also be played in Hull.

Now objectively there is nothing wrong with that but we come back to having seen no indication that the KC (or Craven Park) has ever offered to host a whole round of games.
