Its not the sex part, its the "on fire" part I think!
In an interview with Robbie, Marieke and the Doctor on Australian radio station Triple J, Nathan Followil explained that the band never intended the song to be named "Sex on Fire".
"They were just kind of dummy lyrics. Depending on whether a song starts with a melody or starts with lyrics, you know if it starts with a melody you just keep playing the melody over and over until you get it down and just throw in any lyrics that fit the verbal flow. Sex On Fire was just kind of a little lyric just to fill in to kill some time until we could actually write something that wasn't about sex and fire."
Nathan also said that some lyrics tried were "Socks on Fire" and "C*cks on Fire"
Now now, we're nice to Halifax fans these days. Given their coach is a former Bull and their chairman a former Bradford Northern supporter of the year, we should be.
