What state do you think Sam Tomkins would be in today if he'd been played with those three facing him?
Get real, its tough out there.
Forwards aren't 5'8" anymore they're 6'2" plus and aggresive with it.
They will pick the right games for Sam and Cas at home is one.
More likely though is he will get his chance due to injuries.

utter nonsense
Castlefords forwards are no smaller than Hulls.

You have basically written off his entire career in one paragraph

Current thoughts - Mago out or get running up them plantations, get fit or get rid.
Maybe a back up halfback, someone with a bit of experience on a short term deal.
Big tall strong running second rower, like a McMeekin or Sironen type back rower.

Newsnight 13th May 2010: "With the role of Deputy Prime Minister a non-job. Has Nick Clegg gone from King Maker to tea maker????"

I kept the faith and I kept voting
Not for the iron fist but for the helping hand
For theirs is a land with a wall around it
And mine is a faith in my fellow man
Theirs is a land of hope and glory
Mine is the green field and the factory floor
Theirs are the skies all dark with bombers
And mine is the peace we knew
Between the wars

I think it comes down to tactics - Noble likes his team to play in a certain way and if players don't fit into that system then they won't get much of a look in. The only way this will change is if the squad picks up injuries.

Personally I owuld like to see Ainscough at least get a chance against Cas and maybe Sam on the bench - then when Tommy goes to 9 (assuming Riddel is injured and McIlorum starts at 9) Sam can slot into the halves. At least get Sam on the bench in some games otherwise he may as well leave.

I'm not writing Sam Tomkins career off at all as you full well.
He isn't ready to be promoted to the first team and do 25 rounds of SL.
IL has said games will be chosen to bring him through and that's what they'll do and that's the point I was making.
As for Hull, Noble said after the match we finished with 11 fit men.
That's the damage a hard and aggressive team can do.
Cas, Salford and Celtic are not as hard or aggressive as Hull.

I think there in lies the major problem, Noble has a very simple game plan that he will not or cannot change. Rather than coaching the players he has to bring out the best in them, to me he seems to be coaching the style of play regardless of the fact he has the players in the team or not to make it successfull.

Wakefield the first game of the season against a Wakefield side littered with injury and inexperienced players was the PERFECT game to use Tomkins off the bench, and may well have seen step up to the plate and prove himseld worthy of a spot against Hull, at which point as a young player he has to earn the right by playing well to play against Cas. If a young player has a poor game/looks out of there depth they can expect a time in the reserves waiting for another chance, but the fact that some of our lads are getting no chance at all cannot be good for there development and us as a club.
