I wouldn`t be surprised that Walters could see how bad Tetavano and Oledzki were playing and he thought if he can`t get a game in front of those two what`s the point in staying.
Like what`s been said his agent and the player himself decided a move away would do him good and we have missed out.
But it`s happened now and there`s nothing we can do about it.
As compensation we managed to get McDonnell from Wigan who imo is our player of the year.

I love McDonnell to bits; he needs a few kilos of muscle adding but he is a crackerjack player.

His technique and skill is fantastic.

We have too many back rowers of a similar type (slightly undersized) and this isn’t the first time we’ve done this.

Perhaps the player wanted to be at a club with a high-performance culture managed by people who know what they are doing. A club that more often than not will finish in the top half of the table with a fully functional youth development department.

Maybe they want to be coach by a group with real gravitas and a head coach that engages at all levels inc. the media in a positive and open manner.

What a stupid comment, since 2017 Wigan have been in 2 grand finals one challenge cup final. One win in each, exactly the same as us.
Some people need to get over this Walters situation its pathetic that some are using it as a stick to beat the club with just to suit their narrative.

He’s gone get over it.

Yes I think some fair criticism is due, not sure any of us are thrilled that the lad is leaving us to joint a direct competitor. But it’s done now and this thread has hardly talked at all about a good result in the circumstances to finish the season off.

We could so easily have lost to Cas and it looks like many of you would have been happier had we. Odd.

I think if we had made some quality signings people would stop going on about the Walters situation.
But what do we do but sign another project from Cas who it would seem has only played at various Championship clubs.
I do not think that helps

We really need to put the Walters thing to bed.
But the fact is, he has made a step up.
Given Wigan's excellent recruitment for next year, they will be right up there and possibly favourites.
We are not direct competitors.
HKR, Salford and Leigh are our direct competitors.
My view is that he's taken a step up and moved back home.
Honestly - who wouldn't....
