Not really a theory is it this squad we have can do a job on any team in the comp, do you disagree? You don't even know what night they played pal, I support my team through good & bad I don't drop my lip gloss out my handbag when it goes wrong like certain fickle fans.

The problem once again appears to be that we have a decent squad on paper, arguably our strongest in years, but that we once again fail to translate that properly onto the pitch. Those opening wins showed just how strong and deadly we can be but the next two showed that we still lack the mental toughness and game smarts to win the close battles. Then Thursday... well, how many times have we seen FC put in a woeful showing like that over the years? I've lost count.

It's all just typical Hull FC really and it doesn't seem to matter how many changes we make to the squad, we just can't seem to get rid of the Jekyll and Hyde nature of the team. Until we can get to the bottom of this we're always going to struggle.

The other thing to remember is that it's important that we as fans don't give up. Yes, we can moan about things on here when it's not working out (just as we should dish out the plaudits when it is working) but let's make sure we're all behind the boys this Friday roaring them onto victory.

The win in France has made it look like we are going to do the treble, then back down to earth against cas/Wigan we came back against Wigan & still lost which made it harder to take, but in a way I saw it as a bit of an improvement from recent seasons to claw back against one of the top sides, albeit Widnes was a total horror show, to some it seems we've lost everything & should sack everyone & bring all the kids in, but it's not as simple as that, we need & we will to for one make sure we never give in like that no matter how hot the opposition are playing, & kick on from it, the saying goes you hit your lowest before you go up, I see this is where we are the players & staff have had it out apologised & are putting it to bed & correcting it. It's sport we move on because dwelling on it solves nothing, just wish some fickle fans will see this.

Re: What are we doing? : Sun Mar 13, 2016 4:55 pm
The problem is the same as other years . No decent halfbacks.
Sneyd is average . Price is past it .
We need a Gale , Lui or Sandow.
Until that is addressed we will never compete .

Sneyd is ok, but he plays well on the back of good go forward, kr have very good HBs in campese & kelly but gash forwards, Walsh is poor when his forwards are not are there best, that's usually the difference of your halfs looking poor.

Whilst I agree Sneyd is not tearing up trees we are a far worse side when he is not in the team.
6 is the big problem for us and whilst I have been critical of Pryce again we are a better team when he is on the field.
My problem with Pryce is he is lazy, misses too many tackles and his jumping out the line is rubbing off on Logan and costing us points on the right edge.
Michaels takes unfair criticism when he has to come inside to try and cover.
Wholesale changes are not necessary despite the heavy defeat at Widnes.Interchanges by Radford need to be better.Manu is playing too many minutes, and Pritchard is an impact player and should be used as such making the best of his off loading against a tiring defense and not as a starting second row.
If Pryce is not fit then Tiumavave will have to play 6 leaving the centre position open.
I don't want to see Yeaman back in the team as that is going backwards.I would rather move Talanoa to centre and bring in Naughton or Lancaster.

Talanoa will be lucky to play. Was in hospital till late the day after and apparently fell asleep in changing room and they couldn't wake him
Sounds like a couple of week job that!!

Tend to agree. Pryce has the class but no longer the physical ability to show it. But he's miles classier than Sneyd. If Sneyd can't take control of a game like for example Brown did then he isn't what we need. I'm willing him to impose himself but even against Widnes when we were steamrollering them in the first 15 mins there was no spark or guile or imposition. Nothing. It sounds tough but it's only comment based on what I see.
