I see Warrington and Swinton joined together and a few other teams. So think North Wales Crusaders for Widnes?

Love a brew.

The sensible choice would be north Wales crusaders, if the shoe was on the other foot though and we were still in the championship I would be fuming.

Becomming a feeder club is losing your identity.

I agree Vikingman and it looks like Fax,Leigh, and Fev are not going that route.Seems the teams with less than a 1000 going through the turnstyles.

Leigh or Barrow would be better surely? Higher standard of rugby.

Can't see Leigh or Barrow going down that road. It should only be open to clubs at a lower level who want it and see it as a benefit. I think the idea is largely offensive but that's the game today. Tread over any club lower than you and ignore the disgruntled fans in the process.

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

More a case of the clubs most likely to be relegated next year into the ' Million Mile a year ' Championship 1 competition

Gateshead-Oldham/Rochdale-NW Crusders-SW Skorpions-Gloucester AG s-Oxford-Coventry?-Hemmel Hempstead-London Skolars

Some players are going to be seeing the insides of a coach as much as they see their homes , and the travel bills ! , its a good jobs clubs dont have to pay by the hour including travel time

Re: Feeder Clubs : Tue Sep 25, 2012 9:06 am
It's all a move towards what Lindsay wanted at the start, fewer 'top' clubs and a set SL as in Aus.

When we were in the Championship I would have been totally opposed to the idea, but don't forget Fev, Leigh or any of them would take great pleasure in pulling us down so that they can get in!!!

We have to develop our business structure, as SOC is doing. That gives us the power and cash to stay right at the top ('A'Graded). That has to come before big signings I'm afraid.

It wont happen overnight but SOC has his sights set on it and I wouldn't bet against him achieving his objective. His strategy has developed his own business and he has taken the Vikings on as a similar challenge.

Personally I believe that working at it, rather than simply being given cash in bucket loads, is a better way to build a solid club with spirit.
