Grey marketing anyone? 8)

These "older" fans were attracted to the sport through journalism and coverage of the sport during the Eddie Waring days of BBC. Hence, when a club turned up on there doorsteps they follow/support them.

Nowadays, the BBC show about 10 games a season plus a highlights programme at silly o'clock.

No. I actually started following the Broncos because I had been badgered to go by an RL fan....and when they moved to within 20 yards of my front door, it would have been rude not to.
Still think most rugby league fans are northern monkeys mind you......just northern monkeys with good taste in sport 8)

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

But the point was - demographics!!!! There isn't a 'South stand' yob element (thank goodness) who are all 15 to 45. It's more families /older at the Stoop. Maybe because the travel etc is costly and that old chestnut - there is so much else to do in the London area?

Why the question in the first place?

When Hull KR got promoted they said there was only room for one elite team in Hull... how right they were!
