If We Ever Lose The WCC .... : Mon Apr 13, 2009 8:19 am
In recent years, the World Club Championship has taken place on British soil for most of the occasions it has taken place.

In those rare years when the NRL Champions don't want to take part, should we 'replace' the game with a 'Charity Shield' type fixture .... Perhaps counting for the first round of the competition and maybe at a neutral venue (for example, Leeds Vs Saints could have been at Elland Road or Anfield ?) to accomodate a larger crowd. Maybe even alternating between large venues for the champions / cup holders each season ?

In this way, the new season would kick off with a showpiece game between top teams and the league 'hits the ground running'.

[watching Mackay testing the curry in the prison kitchens]
Fletcher: Course, he sees 'imself as an authority on curry, he does, on account of where he was stationed in the army.
Rudge: Where? India?
Fletcher: No, Bradford.

May I suggest holding it at a premier national venue-say the Isle of Man?

And while we're at it why not use half a beer barrel as the trophy!!
