Visit //www.geofflee.net for details of my novels 'One Winter', 'One Spring', 'One Summer' 'One Autumn' 'Two Seasons'. and "Three Good Years" All six feature Rugby League against a humourous Lancashire/Yorkshire background and are inspired by the old saying about work: "They could write a book about this place. It would be a best seller."

In League Express a couple of weeks ago there was a letter from me about the decline in health of some players when they retire from playing, some referees when they retire from refereeing and some supporters when they begin to grow old. My suggestion on how to deal with this problem is to spend some time each week writing a novel based generally on your own life, a novel that can include tales about your own childhood and family, your work, home town, hobbies and your interest and involvement in our game.
People who I have told this to often agree that it seems a good idea but quickly go on to tell me that they would just not know how to do it. For such people I have written three pages of general advice on how to get started. It is based on the fact that since starting writing my first novel "One Winter" in 1988, I have now written half a million words in six novels that stretch between 1962 and 2008.
If you would like me to send you these three sheets E Mail me at wgeofflee@gmail.com and ask for Geoff's RL Writing Notes. However you may prefer to read one of my novels first or give one to someone as a Christmas present. To start with I would suggest my latest novel which is called "Three Good Years". It is set between 2006
and 2008 with a background of Work, Family Life, Saving the NHS and Rugby League" and available from the publisher London League Publications at http://www.llpshop.co.uk. Click on Books and then Fiction
