http://www.sheffieldeagles.com/index.ph ... Itemid=490 "Sheffield Eagles are delighted to announce season ticket sales are the highest they have been in over 14 years ahead of the season’s big kick off this Sunday. Sales are also 40% higher than those in 2013 and the high level of interest coincides with the return to Owlerton Stadium. The move followed the closure of Don Valley Stadium and the Eagles will take of Rochdale Hornet in their first match of the season this Sunday (16th) at 2pm. The Hornets where Sheffield’s first ever opponents back in 1984, which also took place at Owlerton and past players and staff will be in attendance. Speaking of the news, Eagles Marketing Manager Liam Claffey said; “I’m thrilled at the number of season tickets sold so far.” “When we announced our move back to Owlerton we set a goal to beat last’s year’s sales and hit a target which we have surpassed greatly. “We have begun working in the local community near the stadium in Hillsborough, making sure people know the Eagles have landed. “Primary focus has been to ensure we didn’t lose any fans during what has been a very transitional off season and once the season gets underway we will further step up our marketing efforts.” |
