Half term report : Sat Mar 03, 2012 8:51 am
So, the Northern Rails are done and we've won the lot. Now for the real business.I've been really impressed with our half-backs so far, especially Brambani. I wasn't sure how they'd work together but it's as if they've been playing together for 15 years, and Brown has made the subtle changes from scrum half to stand off brilliantly. Dom seems to have added a couple more tries to his game since his last spell with us, and also an extra dimension which I can't quite put my finger on, he seems sharper, more intelligent, just a better all round player.
The other main revelation for me has been Nev Morrison. This lad has potential. Looks like an absolute try machine, excellent finisher and blessed with pace and strength. I think he could be in for a big season.
Menzie looked like he was back to his old self last night, a typical Menzie try, some hard yards and a couple of trademark hits.
Hendo seems to have carried on where he left off last season and all the forwards seem right up for it, thought Alex Rowe made a big impact coming off the bench in his first game back last night.
I think this could be a very good season for us, I still think Fev will win it and probably quite comfortably, but other than that, I don't see a team, and more importantly a squad, better equipped than ourselves.
Up the Eagles.
