Despite there being no promotion I think that this season can still be exciting. Even though we have reached a Grand Final surely it would be exciting to get to another or even win it?
Re the Doncaster game - they are still our closest rivals in terms of geography and in the latter part of Gary Hetherington's reign Sheffield were definitely top dogs in S Yorks. However following the Huddersfield debacle and the subsequent reformation of the club it was Doncaster who had the upperhand for a few seasons. The Eagles have the upperhand now and personally I always feel a little smug when we have beaten them despite not knowing any Donny fans at work etc to banter with, we've taken plenty of stick in the past when they have beaten us at DVS etc.
It's not a very old rivalry and probably the least intense of any of the local derbies but personally one that I always like to win whether it's a friendly or not.
A mini thomas the tank engine yoghurt would be more exciting than the rail cup.
