Ah to hell with it, i'm going. Just booked Carcassonne to Stansted on the Sunday for €20.99 with a budget Irish airline. Gonna scout round for the outbound flight.

Bournemouth to Carcassonne was £31.99 with all fees. Booked. Getting megabus from Sheff to London through the night for £3 then train to Bournemouth with Megatrain for a tenner.
