Yes it was. The Eagles fans had been on his back throughout the game so you can hardly blame him.

I think Sheffield fans and Mr Aston have to get their bitterness towards our two stars out of their system. It's whiny and a bit sad to be honest.

Absolutely gutted, to have such a low percentage of possession and outscore the opposition three tries to two was a great effort, the incompetent muppet in the middle didn't help us. The second time we've had him and the second time he's failed to keep a lid on things, he is not ready, simple, and to be honest I doubt he ever will be.

I thought we played well, I've never felt more of a sense of injustice after a game than I feel now. Halifax are a very average team and if they do get a SL license, 1) it will be a miracle and 2) they'll get battered every week. Worrincy classless as usual throwing the ball at Mitch at full time.

One final thing, when Brown went down injured I thought a small section of the Halifax fans were an absolute complete and utter DISGRACE. It was quite clear he was seriously injured, didn't move for a good few minutes and was having a neckbrace fitted, allegations of time wasting (after a minute? sums up their intelligence level) comments such as "get up you girl" and "this is rugby not football" were completely uncalled for. Added to that abhorrent creature they call a mascot mocking Simon by laying on the ground while he was, left a really poor taste in my mouth.

Your first paragraph. I completely agree, he is not ready to referee at this level, he completely lacks any authority and made decisions that baffled both sets of fans. He was equally as bad for both sides, so I suppose that evens it up a little.

Your second paragraph. You feel injustice, why? If your team had taken the two points and made it a draw I would have felt injustice after your first two tries contained easily seen forward passes!!. At the moment we are not even an average side, but thank you for the complement. If Halifax got the nod for superleague in July (which I dont believe we will) how would we get battered week in week out. Do you really believe that if this was to happen it would be exactly the same team that was playing the likes of Bulls, Rhinos, Warriors etc???

Your third paragraph. This happens at every ground I have ever been to, but as soon as the fans realised this was a serious injury the respect was shown by everyone. As for the mascot, just a bit of bad timing by him, and again as soon as he realised it was a bad injury he got up... No malice intended whatsoever.

I felt injustice because I thought we were the better team. I was screaming at them to kick for for goal but in all honesty we'd have probably missed, we're desperately short of a goal kicker without Browny on the pitch.

Maybe I went a bit overboard with the "you'll lose every week" comment and the injury incident, I probably should've waited until this morning to come on here to be honest, still I know what I heard and it wasn't nice, but I guess it's not to be unexpected from a minority of muppets.

I personally thought you were overall the better team, I thought your goal line defence was excellent. I always thought that you would take the game towards the end, especially with our silly short kick off inviting you to come and win.

You are probably right that you are short of a goal kicker, thankfully we have two or three recognised goal kickers, so even when we are short of the first kicker we do have options.

Shows what a difference it makes having Browny on there, we did really miss him after he went off but thankfully he is ok (concussion).

I still feel very aggrieved about the game, not so much that we didnt win, more that a great game was spoilt by the lack of control from the man in the middle. Given ive done the course and reffed games its difficult to watch without that "what would i have given there" view. The first thing we get taught is to look after the players, control them and keep a lid on tempers. This clearly didnt happen at all. I can name six or seven clear errors in the game (both sides, although we did get the worst of it).

The fight near the end was completely inevitable, given this games importance and with recent controversies between the clubs and inevitable tensions that go with that, we needed a strong ref, and we didnt get it.

This is not a personal swipe at Mr Turley at all, ive seen him at other games where he has done well and its good that young refs are making their way in the game. It was merely the wrong appointment for this game IMO.

As an aside: Im a huge fan of always taking the two when the chance is there, we didnt when we should have and fax did when they should have. They won by two.

We should've definitely kicked for goal, no doubt. Whether we would have got it or not is a different matter, but we'd have retained possession regardless (20 metre drop out).
