From Celtic Crusaders to Crusaders RL to Welsh Crusaders, they should just be called Laughing Stock RLFC.

I kind of predicted this but I thought that they would be Wrexham Crusaders and I wondered if they would change their strip to red as the ground is mainly red and also the Welsh national team colours.

Should have said, originally the unitary authorities were in Cheshire when created in 1974. I believe originally there was a Stone Age settlement in Widnes and a Roman one in Warrington.

I don't think they are officially in the current county of Lancashire - Lancashire really has been butchered, hasn't it?

As for Crusaders, I don't really care if they get special treatment. I've got better things to get wound up about.

You said it yourself - unitary authorities. Local councils.

The Local Government Act didn't change the geography of the country. Just the local councils. Give it a read. It's on the net.
