Have they ever actually been solvent. They now owe so much to the RFL they can't grumble if they get kick down to div 3 - as for beating the existing sides they havent yet signed any players for next season so they are hardly a safe bet for promotion. prehaps harris will get his boots back on!!!

If Widnes earn a failure point we must overturn an eight point swing to finish 4th. If Widnes lose by more than 12 we just need to win (or draw) to finish 4th. If we lose we will finish 5th, unless we don't get a failure point and Halifax can overturn a 37 point swing, in which case we would finish 6th.



For York they must better Hunslet's result to stay in the division. If they both get the same result then York must overturn a 111 point swing to preserve their Championship status.



So basically, if my maths is right, it's all to play for.

I think we'll struggle on Friday if Brown isn't fit, and also if Menzie gets banned. However, Widnes got a bit of a shoeing today and there is reported unrest within their camp between the players who have been picked for SL and those who haven't, so who knows?
