Sad news from York City Knights that they have gone out of business because the long promised new stadium, which they were going to share with York City FC, failed to materialise. I hope that they can be rescued and find a new home. I am puzzled though as to why they cannot continue ground sharing with York City. Can anyone enlighten me on this?

Very depressing especially as my wife is a Yorkie Bar and used to pop in to see her various relatives on the area whilst my 2 grandsons and I would go to watch the Knights.

The club owner,John Guildford,made enemies. Some supporters finally discovered he wasn't all he seemed. He has had a huge number of head coaches at his club,with James Ford being the longest lasting for about 3 seasons. I can't find the female councillor's full statement but here is a little bit of the background.Story He fell out with the owner of the soccer club a long time ago. He recently banned Mr Hall,senior,from watching the team,and it was Mr Hall senior who was instrumental in the phoenix from the ashes when York Wasps went under. Unfortunate for the supporters and the sponsors.
