Betting Update
Eagles are 10 Point Favourites it is a difficult game to assess as Bately have only conceded 26 Points in 3 Matches however two were against relegation contenters and the Halifax game was played on a mudbath I will go for an eagles win by 6.

Interesting game at Halifax who play Fev Halifax are Favourites by 6 I cant call this game will be interesting to see who wins, the rest of the matches seem to be straightforward wins for the Favourites Leigh 22 Points at Doncaster, Bradford 34 Points home to Hunslet, Dewsbury 18 Points home to Whitehaven, London 16 Points home to Workington

Cant find an edge so no bets for me this weekend

Ain't a betting man,nor would I encourage it,but there are some interesting squad selections,and dual registration availability amongst them.

I think an Eagles victory of more than 6 points is promised.

Good Win in a close match I thought at one point in the second half Batley would go on and win the game but we defended well and deserved to win but only just we can play better however our next three matches a workington h hunslet and doncaster are all very winnable and if we get all six points It will be an excellent start to the season

Some excellent defence by the Eagles. Batley came out for the 2nd half with all guns blazing and tbh I thought that they would nick it so all credit to the Eagles.

I didn't enjoy the second half;2 much stop/start.
I don't want to criticize the official in charge - and we did win - but as I could stay thinking about his decisions until this time next week and still not work out how he came to those decisions - I can only conclude he had a poor game.

On to the Worky/Wigan combo - need to be as resilient as we have been and will be,and keep going,just as today.

Ball retention needs to be better, but was impressed with our defence in that second half. Was overlooking Tubby's post-match interview, one of the most used words was 'dumb'.

Think we've found our goal kicker after today's game - step forward Patch Walker.
