Not going to talk about the game as it was rubbish Plenty more games to go though,Having not had the privilidge to have been old enough to have gone to Owlerton before it was my 1st game there,Really enjoyed it,Owlerton does exactly what it says on the tin,It's not Wembley or KC stadium etc but it's a ground with character and you can sense it when you walk in and walk around,People could also say it's a poohole but if thats there opinion need to stick to Man Utd and shiny Premeir league grounds,Even the sign as you go in,Loved it just seemd a million miles away from Don Valley which i hated and also cost a lot more and it was a worse experience,Loved the fact you could just walk around and do as you please,Stand at either side for each half,Plenty off bars serving a decent choice off beers,Pork Sandwich with crackling was the highlight off the game reasonably priced,All very clean,Toilets etc,Carvery area looked superb and modern,Satelite tv and also showing rugby game inside,If we did get into super league i'm sure floodlights and maybe a stand could be errected across from the current area with some off the extra cash,People smoking in the ground,It really was a bit oldskool but oldskool was great,At this level the ground is good enough and id rather be here than play at the LSV,1200 or so fans scattered around a 12k stadium,Thats why i like Featherstone,Bar,food, atmosphere, good viewing and a mingle,What more do you neeed. All i could say is if your an alcoholic or have a gambling addiction then You'd probably best to stop away. Also good for families, location has pizza hut,KFC,Mcdonalds nearby to have some food before or after,I prefer New Barrack Tavern,Always next match,Roll on the new season.
Watched the game behind glass cos thats where my ticket lets me sit - to be honest not impressed at watching rugby behind glass the ref can't hear you shouting compliments about his wrist movements etc. No no real atmosphere and you can converse at normal speech levels definately odd!

I agree, yesterday despite the result was fantastic I had a walk round most places and watched the game from the first bend terrace thought it was cracking under there. Walking around the bars was great screens showing the game all over the place loads of staff on and the pork sarnies were spot on. If we could build a stand on the far side and put some floodlights in I'd happily stay there permanently (dreaming I know).

Brilliant post much better than the LSV , better pitch better views better facilities bigger crowds and now the BEST Pork Sandwiches , well slappa my thigh , lets all move to Owlerton , I can see an opening for Eagleblade at the Tower .Charlie knows .
I know the weather was bad and we were playing a team we were expected to beat easily but a crowd on a sunday of 897 is poor last season also on a sunday the attendance was 1177 (although the club were running a £5 per ticket offer on groupon for that game) hopefully crowds will increase once the word gets around that we are at owlerton and when the football season has ended.
Hopefully this result was a one off if i remember correctly we seem to play better when it is dry (eg lost to Halifax in playoffs when wet but beat them in a later round when it was dry)
