True story .....About twenty years ago, we had a club dentist called Chris, who'd moved up here from Southampton.
After a couple of years, we were sitting round a table in a pub and he said "Howard, why do you call Paul 'Baines'?"
"Broad Baines", said Howard.
Blank look.
"Broad Baines. Baked Baines. Kidney Baines."
At this point, Chris realised he'd been unwittingly copying Howard's Yorkshire accent for the previous two years.
