Eagles assistant coach Mick Cook could be pulling his boots on again at the weekend. The hooker - who played 257 games for the club from 1987-96, is organising a game between a squad of over-35s former professionals against a Combined Services team.
Mick has been seeking new recruits for his squad because some of the regular players are not available, that means he could have to leave the coaches-bench and play.
But on the team sheet is Mick's fellow assistant coach Waisale Sovatabua.
The game, to raise money for the Help for Heroes charity, is being held at Featherstone Rovers Big Fellas Stadium on Saturday, (20 November) kick-off 1pm.
Mick is hoping that some Eagles fans will make the trip to Fev for the game and promises a good contest.
He said: “We have a few big name guys playing - Dean Sampson, James Lowes and Lee Jackson, Was Sovatabua. We generally have a team of ex-professionals and some pretty good amateurs. It’s played in a good spirit and the lads put their bodies on the line.”
