I'll be honest I was at the game and heard nothing but warm applause from the Leigh fans as Misi left the field. I understand he's currently undergoing surgery with a broken FIBULA (not fibia Badvibes, not very good knowledge for a doctor ) being the suspected diagnosis.Wow, what a game. As Griff pointed out in the other thread, easily the most exciting so far of the season. Was genuinely gutted when Misi had to be helped off the field as early as the first minute and doubted we'd recover, but recover we did and put in an excellent performance, even if we did bomb about seventeen tries. The result would have been settled much earlier if we had a goal kicker, something that's plagued us all season and a problem which must be rectified for next term. My man of the match was Peter Green, easily the best game I've seen him have in an Eagles shirt, tackled like a machine and made two clean breaks, one of which put Joe Hirst through for a try, who incidentally I thought adapted superbly to the centre position discounting his floored pass which would've left Tim Bergin with a walk in.
Hopefully we can keep up the momentum and try and get to the final eliminator, personally I'm hoping Barrow come through against Widnes as I simply hate going to Widnes, we never ever win there and to be blatently honest their fans do my head in.
Oh and one more thing, the berks in front of us who were blaming the referee for their defeat (Leigh fans, one of which was England cricket legend Mike Gatting's double) might want to watch the tape back, Mr Hicks had a superb game barring when he missed the Leigh scrum half fumble from the scrum base.
