Inept again... : Sun Apr 25, 2010 4:14 pm
Never written anything on here before but i guess the frustration has boiled over.Another abject performance against Hunslet today, the same old mistakes ring true and it makes me honestly wonder what the point of the Skolars actually is?
I have been a season ticket holder for a couple of years now and watching the side for maybe five years and it has to be said Skolars are going backwards, 1st team performances week in , week out are embarassing and i guess the frustration is nothing seems to change. The whole club just seems overwhelmed with complacency. I used to enjoy games 3 years ago we might not have won every week but you went knowing you would see a competitive game of Rugby League whilst supporting the development of the game in the South, sadly its no longer the case you go only knowing defeat is guaranteed before you start, its just a case of by how many? Is that the way any club or group of supporters should honestly feel before going to a game?
We get the same comments in the programme or from the club every week, "we had hard luck hopefully things will improve". They won't unless someone makes brave steps to actually make them happen and at the moment the whole set up (first team wise) seems to be going through the motions. A coach who appears out of his depth, with no ability to motivate (i have sat listening to him behind at the back of the stand at home games), his only comment seems to be 'get the boys energised' after each try goes in against us, no passion, no anger, no constructive comment, no nothing... without that in competitive sport where are you? whats the point?
Sorry if this seems negative but the club wants to decide where it is going? As we are slowly becoming a completely and utter laughing stock and it needs saying. At present we have no hope of promoting a product and attracting new support to this great game whilst the team is completely and utterly inept.
Here's hoping one day we again see a competitve London Skolars team take to the field , at the moment it isn't and i see little change ahead unless drastic steps are taken.
I expect i will get shot down for these comments but at the end of the day someone has to say something, surely no one can be happy with what they see at every Skolars game?
And £12 to watch that standard of rugby is borderline criminal and will never attract new spectators, (i watched Hemel play Bramley last week, free admission and a couple of quid for a well produced programme and a friendly welcome and a competitive rugby match all of which don't exist at White Hart Lane Sports Centre)where are the marketing initiatives within London? A stall in Wood Green shopping centre, come on think bigger.
Sorry if this upsets anyone, i don't intend to... just had to get it out, i am a paying supporter after all who cares...
