.....why on earth are people on here saying what a great atmosphere it was at the game and how proud they are of the Celtic players???

I went to this game.

Apart from 20 or so Celtic supporters a few rows in front of me in the Hazell stand chanting 'Sheep Sheep Sheep Shaggers' for about 15 or 20 minutes after kick off (before getting bored and hardly making a sound for the next 60 mins) , a large explosive device that was wheeled onto the pitch on a small trolley before being detonated by a little man and a few fireworks like you buy from an Asian grocer a week before Firework night the was NO ATMOSPHERE.

Rodney Parade makes Twickenham Stoop look like the Nou Camp.

The Celtic players were outclassed in EVERY department and from what I can remember didn't even look like scoring. It was like watching Man Utd v Canvey Island, or Barcelona v Shepherds Bush.

It was embarrassing.

Celtic were embarrassingly bad.

Celtics players are supposed to be professionals. Professional footy players.

They were made to look like amateurs.

Why?? The season is nearly over. I knew Celtic would lose...but to ship that many points is a disgrace.

Proud of the players??

Sensible post. Its obvious people are so desperate for Celts to succeed that they are being overhyped wherever possible.

Its like saying Grease 2 was a good sequel because Olivia Newton John looked stunning in it

I'm not violently anti Celtic Crusaders. I truly wish RL would catch on in the area.

But it won't. Ever.

Sadly.

I personally would like nothing more than a trip up the M4 once in a while for some decent footy in a decent ground with a decent atmosphere.

The FACTS are that there was very little atmosphere at Newport on Saturday and Celtic Crusaders players should be ashamed of their performance.

Conceding over 60 points and not scoring ANY yourself is not acceptable. Yes, their 6 best players have had to leave. But it looked like the 6 replacements had never seen a footy match in their lives.

Shameful performance.

Nor am I anti welsh, but to me whats going on down there is simply depressing.

I feel they will be given one summer and the first 6-7 games of next season to prove us doubters all wrong. If this doesnt happen i think its game over

Everyone there apart from you was lying then Barry, obviously.

As for the youngsters supposedly not knowing what they're doing. Elliot Kear made two fantastic try saving tackles on Lee Smith and Scott Donald...not bad on debut. Gil Dudson, on debut, also made a few yards, and a few tackles and no real errors. The other youngsters all did well too. Mills had a decent game, White was kept quiet due to our lack of possession.

furthermore will theybe able to attract good signings after this recent debacle?

Barry honestly, why lie? The singing from the Hazell stand never stopped. From the Crusaders fans anyway. The otherwise great Leeds fans were pretty much silent. As they said they didn't want to gloat in the face of our current tribulations. A classy bunch the Leeds travelling fans.

The TIDAL river is always going to be brown with silt and mud because it is a TIDAL river, constantly rising and falling. It's not pollution. It's MUD. Yes parts of the place are run down. That's just Wales. Hundreds of years of harvesting our resources then under investing. You don't like it, don't come! Simples!.

The 6 who went are not all our best players. But we also have quite an unfortunate injury list. What with all the stuff going on, we are pleased it was kept under 100. Criticise our lack of scoring all you like, but until you score a few yourself, you'll excuse me if I don't give a shiite.

The Union boys were NEVER going to give League a fair crack. We had them in Bridgend too. Come down, get ratarsed and then complain loudly about never going back. No problem. It's their money they're giving to the club.

I happen to have a number of contacts (including on this board) who reliably inform me that UKBA "further investigations" aside, we are going to be in a much MUCH stronger position next season. Please go ahead and pooh pooh that statement because we all know you are not "anti-Welsh". you are always so complimentary about us. So it must just be because you care SO DAMN MUCH that you have criticised EVERYTHING about our club, country and nationality.

Mate you must be a fekking NIGHTMARE to tavel with.

"Don't like the food" "Don't like the town" "Don't like the ground" "Don't like the accent" wah wah wah. Criticise this. Ridicule that.

Given that the only thing your country exports is pisswater in a blue can, rugby league players and bar staff you're hardly in a position to criticise.

Oh and I would't be so proud of pulling a munter from Magor either. It's not like it's difficult. I can imagine her now "Oooo yew sound like that crocodile dundee innit? Wanna shag?" I'd get along to your nearest STD clinic if I were you.
