Read the FULL statement here especially the last sentence of the quote - "This is an ongoing process which is not exclusive to Celtic Crusaders.”

I'm sure the RFL look after all the teams who need help but there is only so much that can be done at times.

People seem to be making a mountain out of a molehill here and some even seem to be willing Celtic to fail which is awful.

I don't see what the issue is with the RFL providing support for any club who needs it in order to help them become more sustainable. The obvious problem that will be faced by Celtic Crusaders is they aren't yet a big name which is going to hamper efforts to find a sponsor (don't forget even Wigan struggled this season to find a sponsor which says a lot about how hard it must be at the moment) so good on the RFL for giving them support to try to do this.

This is history. This is history. Right here. Right now. This is history.

I thought it was Widnes?
All games are winnable, whats hard to understand about that.

Wakefield turn over a big club every season and i see no reason why Widnes can't do the same.
"Crusaders chairman Leighton Samuel told BBC Sport: "We must go forward with a viable facility and the stadium at the Brewery Field was not ideal at the time of the initial bid, it didn't meet certain criteria and we have to meet that criteria this time.

"Rodney Parade certainly meets that criteria, especially in terms of capacity.

"It is an option. They do want us there and we would love to play out of there as it is a nice facility and is to be redeveloped."

And the RFL's assessment of Celtic after the licenses were announced....

CELTIC CRUSADERS
Whilst well maintained, the ground is limited and old fashioned but there is a commitment to immediately enhance the current facilities. :LIAR:

In the medium term the club recognises the need to develop a new facility and appears to be working with the local public agencies to deliver this. As with any new venture, financial projections are more subjective but the club has demonstrated financial stability during its progress through the National Leagues. The club has built good relationships with commercial partners and TV channel S4C offers exciting opportunities. There is supportive independent market research for Super League in South Wales, although inevitably this can only be fully tested by the club’s actual participation in the competition. The playing infrastructure is very good in places but the club is understandably at the early stages with its scholarship and academy teams.

If it's not exclusive to your club then perhaps you could name some other clubs who are receiving similar help from the RFL in times of difficulty ?

Gateux,

It's a sad state of affairs but unfortunately the 'family' feeling that people used to associate with what is a brilliant game is waning massively. Nothing has done more to kill the RL community as a whole then the franchising debacle and the gap between the 'them's and the us'es' will only get wider as this goes on and we enter the farce that will be the 2011 application process. It was even apparent at board level with certain club officials pouring scorn on the applications of their rival clubs bids.. mocking modern community stadiums and the like whilst extolling the virtues of iconic stadia that will be built should 'They' be given a licence..

It's fairly patronizing to expect fans of championship clubs to want the game to go on and get stronger at the expense of something that they have devoted themselves to for the vast majority of their life..
It's like asking them to have their favourite pet put down so that other people can enjoy their own pets!!!

Do you honestly expect the reaction to have been as half as bad were relegation and promotion still in place??..
If clubs were of the belief that by attaining certain standards on and off the pitch and that winning the final were enough to gain them a place amongst the elite would anyone actually be wanting to see the crusaders fail to the extent that they are?
Instead, due to the cherry picking process put in place by the men in ties at Redhall, the feeling amongst those on the outside is that entry to SL is by means of 'dead men's shoes'. The RFL have made their expansion agenda quite clear and this only goes to further deepen the fear that there will be no possible return to SL whilst Toulouse, Gateshead, Edinburgh?? and who knows what future experimental sides wait in the wings.

There were obvious problems with the old system such as having the championship GF played in October and staging the NR cup group games at the beginning of the season?? This gave teams less time to prepare their squads for SL
Instead have the NR cup as the swansong to the season and get the GF out of the way earlier giving them time to put a side together
... instead of the old parachute payment for heading down a division why not have provided money to the newly promoted team to strengthen their side and help them become competitive.
Give greater protection to team's youngsters so that they can't be poached away as easily... Enforce a similar ruling to the one that is about to be brought into the Football PL for a set number of home-grown players to have to be played in a set number of games??

Not really they don't help anyone outise SL, And ALL the money is in SL so how is that fair???

Plus helping Cru would of been to leave them to develop in NL ofr another 3 years not throw them in at the deep nad on oh yes... this!

I'm all for a three year breathing space, look at Catalan. Cup final second year, 3rd placed 3rd year.

If Crusaders do the same, your argument is null and void.
