Conroy - Being a Latics fan i'm already immune to watching sh*te.

Sally Cinnamon - Treat the Saints forum as you would if you met a girl from St Helens. Best policy would be to avoid altogether but if you absolutely can't resist temptation then take every possible precaution.

Afternoon matey :D

FWIW I think it's a damned shame what's happened and hope the club aren't going to be completely crucified for this. Sadly, you can expect abuse from the small-minded flatcappers, I just hope you realise that proper fans of TGG (i.e. game first club second, not the other way round like the flatcappers) will still support the Welsh venture and not want it to die because of this.

From a fellow pariah (aka a Wigan fan), welcome to the club 8)

The problem is Nash, you have got too involved in an incompetent organisation which is run by somebody who, as has been intimated earlier, has his own interests at the forefront of everything he does.

I sincerely hope your club gets over this as we aren't all flatcappers in Widnes and the more widespread RL is the better the game will be. Your club was pushed to run before it could walk under poor guidance.

Keep going for the sake of the game.

That's what's great about the RL family. Most of the stuff on this thread is smug-I-told-you-so-flat-capper type speak. Unless of course we want the game here to revert to semi-pro, and Oz and NZ be the only 2 teams that can beat each other.
Trying to give this game a bigger profile is hard enough. Celtic have battled hard to try and do it, and maybe they were not ready for SL. But does the knife have to go in and twist to much right now.
The club have maybe wronged here, but how has it taken 3 years in some cases to find this out. The immigration people are well out of order, allowing it to take this long.

But at the end of the day, the fans and the game in Wales are the losers, and I believe the game in general in Europe is too.
Bringing young kids in may look good on paper, but if they aren't ready, it's futile. However if there is enough experience around to get those kids thro', then it may prove to be very interesting.

Didnt immigration rules change in Nov 2008?

Thus resulting in your current predicament, meaning that when these guys came over their visas were all in order. Is it a fact that these new rules applied retrospectively have resulted in this almighty b***s up we are currently witnessing?

Can any one in the know shed some light on this.

Chin up Celtic fans!

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

They have been playing over here on student visa's getting paid by the clubs chairman in clear contravention of the salary cap rules for the 2 previous years

In those 2 years several other clubs have been affected adversly because of this

bollox to everyone feeling sorry for Celtic if it was Wigan or Saints these boards would implode, its embarrassing that the club have let this happen and yet more negative press for our great game

what like your beloved wigan purposly over spending on the salary cap year in year out knowing that the fine will come into play next season?

now thats an emabarassment...also how about wigan spending ludicrous amounts of cash on australian has beens whilst releasing top young players such as briscoe, robinson etc etc etc...another embarrasment in my eyes..

i for one wouldt feel sorry for the cherry and whites if this was to happen to them, infact id love it..

You know, people like you are pathetic.

You should be sympathising with the fans, not one of whom is to blame for this shambles, not coming on here with your childish, bitter whinging. Parochial and bitter and embarrassing.

I do sympathise with the fans, but lets have a level playing field.celtic cheated, and the consequence should be expulsion/demotion.celtic are in this position through incompitent management supported by red hall.
