Final throw of the dice, if this fails then Widnes/Leigh will be instructing lawyers.

Good Luck, I fear you will need it Crusaders (hope I am wrong)

Certainly not from your pocket so why are you bothered? Seems we're damned if we do nothing and damned when we do something.

The money has come from new investors / sponsors who will be revealed over time (no secret). The real reason for the move to Newport was a pre-condition of the investors (not the condition of Brewery Field).

Clearly the help and guidance from the RFL will not hurt either and the appointment of Noble Sharp and (not plastic - REAL) Welshman Harris will help our rise from the bottom.

We are grateful of the assistance and support we have received from within SL and especially grateful to Featherstone for releasing Iestyn with their blessing (they had every right to be awkward if they wanted).

I think you would have to be a pretty determined ill-wisher to see us as anything other than a serious SL side now.

I don't think we'll be any danger to the top of the table for a few years yet, but if we can reach anywhere between 8-6 I'm pleased.

Sorry to the other championship sides who wanted us to fail, but I think you'll have to wait until the next round of franchises.

FWIW though scuttlebut I heard was that had we fallen through, Widnes were earmarked to replace us, so gotta think they are not far off a nailed on cert for a franchise next time (unless we get the North Wales team up and running . )

Luck is a combination of preparation and opportunity

Just to avoid confusion Starbug is the username of Steven Pike

SOMEBODY SAID that it couldn’t be done
But he with a chuckle replied
That “maybe it couldn’t,” but he would be one
Who wouldn’t say so till he’d tried.
So he buckled right in with the trace of a grin
On his face. If he worried he hid it.
He started to sing as he tackled the thing
That couldn’t be done, and he did it!

Welcome to Stuart Fielden.

I fear that Celtic may sign up George Carmont.

That trio will be costing a fortune although its money well spent if it brings success, crowds and publicity.

BUT I really feel sorry for poor John Dixon having had to work on a shoestring budget for so long - I honestly don't think there's much to choose between Dixon and Noble as coaches.

I tip my hat to the spadework done by Dixon over the past 4 years.

Sometimes a change in coach is not necessarily a criticism of what went before but rather recognition that a new phase has begun and something different is required. That applies to all clubs bar Wigan, obviously, who have had something like 11 coaches since Superleague began!

I'm sure Nobby will be great for the Crusaders. He's very committed and clearly he can pull a club up by the bootstraps and make it come good. I think he will be good for the Crusaders and I wish the club all the best for next season.

It's a win win situation for Noble as the only way is up amd he is starting with a blank canvas, better still he can sign players he wants rather than inheriting players he doesn't want on long contracts. Exciting times ahead for Celtic and RL.
