I believe there are 'internal issues' at Bolton, to do with the direction the club should or shouldn't be taking. Also I think quite a lot of their players are late 20s/early 30s and some might be calling it quits.

Could be completely wrong but that's the rumour...not like them to concede games at all.

hope bolton come through...good side, and we lost blackburn last year - this part of the world needs more rugby league!!!

Bolton Mets vs Crosfields
Chorley Panthers vs Bury Broncos
Eccleston Lions vs St Helens Wild Boars
Newton Storm vs Rylands Sharks A
Widnes Tigers vs Westhoughton Lions
Wigan Bulldogs vs Wigan St Cuthbert's A

Going for nearly all away wins this week! Some doubts whether Bolton will field a team, but if they field their best I think they could turn Crosfields over, Chorley appear to be much improved but I'll still go with Bury, Eccleston are strong at home but Wild Boars have started on fire, Newton still seem to be struggling while Rylands are doing well, I think Westhoughton will just pip Widnes though they should have some extra lads back, and Cuthberts are another strong starter while Bulldogs have struggled a little.

going to be an interesting game! hope the pitch at Eccleston is ok...given the number of sin-binnings at WB and that tight pitch at Eccleston, it should be fun!

also hoping the pitch is ok at Chorley - can't belive this will be the first ever Bury game that i will have ever missed!

I'm hoping that we can turn a team out this weekend, Saturdays are really boring otherwise, had to go shopping with the other half

Should be, a lot of times last year it was one of the only pitches open (not ran by the council)

hoping to train thursday, so i'll have a look then.

Think Bolton have a few injuries and lost few players they had a few good half backs but think they injured and just getting back I know one who did his knee last year he was one of there best players he just getting back I think but he said it's poor down there think he may of already chuked it

Chorley Panthers 16 - 19 Bury Broncos

What a game!! Hard-fought to the end. Bury went with 6 first-teamers missing and another who only got there at half time, and to be honest I thought we'd struggle but the boys proved me wrong. A very tight first half saw the ref absolutely cane us, with a count of about 10-2 against us. Still, we went in to make it 0-6, Chorley scored out wide just before half time to make it 4-6 at the break.

Second half we started poorly and we were again caned and piggybacked up the field on the back of loads more penalties, but managed a drop goal to make it 4-7. Chorley then took advantage and ran in 2 converted tries to make it 16-7, and looked like running away with it. But we stepped up with a nice try down the middle to make it 16-13, and then with 5 mins to go we threw it wide and the winger stepped inside 2 and carried another over, converted to 16-19. Was his first touch of the ball and his season debut!!

That 5 minutes turned into 15 as the ref stopped the clock for everything, though granted we were slowing things down to run the clock down. Then virtually on the death Chorley put a cross-field kick in, their winger took jumped and took it well, but dropped it as he went to ground it. Thank fck!

Got to say I'm buzzing, that was a hard-fought win with a weakened side. Chorley are improved from last year and should go ok, they never gave up and played the game in great spirit.

Now for a much-needed beer(s)!!!

Wild boars 16 - 12 eccy lions

Excellent, tough game. Both sides gave everything.
