Struggling for numbers mate, travelled with 14 men again yesterday, i popped my ribs in the first ten minutes which left us with 13, the lad who came on for me was playing his first game of rugby league!
Trouble is we had a small squad to start of with and once you get lads working, and on stag dos etc etc aswell as the wigan v saints game kicking off at the same time we are gonna be struggling. We've been nowere near turning the side out that won the league last year...we have only lost one lad whos retired through injury, its just lads arent available on Saturdays at this time of year.
We could just do with 3/4 more regulars to fill the gaps when were short, but the thing is with local sides such as Pats, IRB, Judes, Cuthberts, Hindley & Riversiders turning 2 and some cases 3 teams out, then there arent many lads to pick from, we are relying on new lads that are brand new to the game.
Hopefully its as bad as its gonna get and things will start picking up. We play you men in midweek I think so we will see if we can turn a stronger side out.
I didnt see much of the game after I went off but im led to believe the referee was a disgrace.
To be honest I spoke to him just before the kick off and at the toss and he was an arogant git then aswell...I tried to tell him that we had glass and dog poop under our sticks he basically said "what do you want me to do about it!"....idiot.
