Rovers Stun League Leaders Wigan With Sensational Win

There could be only one winner as the top of the table Wigan Warriors were first up in a coronavirus truncated round eleven as they took on the side propping up the rest of the table, Hull Kingston Rovers.

Coach Adrian Lam named a side which was almost unrecognisable from the one which narrowly beat the Castleford Tigers last time out. Morgan Smithies had picked up a five game suspension for a couple of misdemeanours but Wigan made six other changes to their winning side.

The Warriors were massive favourites for the win with the Robins receiving a twenty point start on the handicap coupon. Surely there was no chance that Wigan would slip up and open the door to the chasing pack.

Plenty of sour grapes tonight. Not least on Wigan board. One Lad having meltdown. Why not just say outenthused and outplayed on the night? Grand scheme of things Wigan still go into playoffs and we fight to avoid wooden spoon but for us it's nice to see the gradual improvement in game vWarrington Saints and now Wigan after lockdown. The win was deserved. We had Garbutt Mulhern Parcell Quinlan Crooks Brierley missing and Livett Abdull and Litten back off lay offs. Not dissimilar to our opponents if not more?

Terrific win and well deserved. I'll obviously never be a Rovers fan but credit where its due.

Great performance by KR, Litten and Abdul seemed to be at the fore but superb team effort, that's surely a huge boost turning the pies over pretty comprehensively.

Been a few player's go both ways recent years. Hadley got rave reviews at Wakey on loan but never seemed to get run in Hull side due to injury I think? Not a monster of a back row but solid and grafts. Abdull and Litten showed some really good stuff so it is good to see local lads do well for both sides when they get that chance
