But I tell you what is a joke. RL is supposed to be expanding and widening the net, yet we have 2 teams in Super League from the same city. Either merge Hull and Hull KR and spread that net including another team, or drop Hull or Hull KR out of Super League. This is not a wind up, but a serious proposition. Would you be happy if 2 SL places were taken up by a West Leeds and a East Leeds for example?

I’ve said it every year? You telling me the concept isn’t a joke?
And I’ll answer your ‘serious’ question with a question. Leeds, wakey, Bradford, Huddersfield etc. are all within the same area, should we merge all of them too? And does the game want to lose nearly 20k fans by merging us and Hull? Can the game afford that? Me thinks you’re on the wind up.

If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Those who profess to favor freedom, and yet depreciate agitation, are men who want crops without plowing up the ground. They want rain without thunder and lightning. They want the ocean without the awful roar of its many waters. This struggle may be a moral one; or it may be a physical one; or it may be both moral and physical; but it must be a struggle.

Leeds, Wakey, Bradford and Huddersfield are "different" towns/cities. Hull have TWO teams in SL. If you put aside your childish differences then Hull could provide a single stronger club which would benefit RL as a whole as it would bring in another team such as Toronto or Toulouse. Maybe retain some recognition of the old Hull clubs by calling the new united team Hull Airlie Robins or Hull Red Birds?

Do us all a favour and go away.. Unless you live here you will never understand why it will not happen. How close are the Lancs teams to each other or the West Yorks teams...nice try for getting a bite, you got some, including me, but you are on a loser here.

Hi. Put simply, we have enough support for two rival clubs, but probably wouldn’t have enough for one combined club.
Our childish differences reflect a rich sporting heritage in the city.
Just to note also that some towns and cities are different sizes. In part that is why we have a distinction between towns and cities. So, for example, it isn’t hugely surprising that London has 5 teams in the EPL, while Manchester has 2, but Burnley and Huddersfield only have 1 apiece.
We could equally say that it doesn’t make sense for West Yorkshire to have 4 SL teams when the East Yorkshire has only two. Crowds at Hull and Rovers compare reasonably favourably with some of those W.Yorks teams. Our catchment and the level of local interest is no more a problem for Rovers than for Wakefield, Castleford or Hudds. Probably less so.
from the perspective of somebody in Mixenden, Halifax is small and Hull is much further away.
Oh, I get it. So the RL should accommodate Hull's selfish traditional inner city rivalry? That's in the past, time to move on. A merged club could relocate somewhere in the centre. How's about making some space in the Bransholme Council Estate area? Surely some houses there due for demolition?

Clubs should succeed or fail on their own merits. You’re confusing ‘accomodate’ with ‘not discriminate’.
