So who would you like to see first up and who would we like to avoid?

A home game against a Championship team to give us a decent chance of a nerves-settling win would be good, imo. Leeds in Round 7, when they’ll likely have confirmed their safety would be nice too. Although one odd result can turn things upside down very easily.

As for our team, a few played themselves into contention last night, displaying an attitude that will hopefully serve us well through the 8s. However, Oakes would be targeted by kicks to the corner, so whether he’s ready for that has to be given some thought.

Didn’t Halifax give us a scare in the first game last year but yeah I know what you mean Leeds in the sixth game Toronto in the 7th on Oakes I’ve been wanting his inclusion for a while but he was dodgy last night to say the least and absolutely awful against Widnes

Leeds 1st. As at the moment they're in God awful form, don't have next week and would rather get them out of the way.
Toronto the 1st game after they've had to travel . As that I think could be a leveller.

As for team, think we're well equipped for the 8's now. We have decent cover in most positions. And there's a togetherness and spirit about them.

Leeds, Toronto & Toulouse now confirmed as our away fixtures.

Ouch.

All of those capable of beating you at home as well though. Home games of Salford, Widnes, Halifax and London certainly look the most favourable out of them all.

It’s the travelling more than anything.

Bit poop, but the 8s fixtures did fall very favourably for us last year.

It’s only Toronto really as it’s quicker to get to Toulouse than London

I couldn't hear the robin sing if not for you.

Re: Daunting trip to/visit of opponent tbd : Sun Jul 29, 2018 8:35 pm
The drama at any cost system means that Rovers (17 points) and Widnes (6 points) start all over from scratch like nothing has happened.

We've got a favourable home fixture list and a tough looking away draw. Still, if Featherstone can travel to Toronto with just 16 players and win convincingly why should we be thinking it is mission impossible? And if Dewsbury can go to Toulouse and have them struggling for well into the second half maybe Rovers can cause them a few problems too.

We are playing well and have almost a full team returning compared to the Hull game. We couldn't be in a better position other than being in the top 8. The only trouble is that the system wipes everything clean so as to give everyone a fresh start no matter what has happened before....it makes for better TV you see. Still, the best performing 4 teams from this system will be in Super League next year...well even then not quite why not create even more drama with a million pound game? OK the 4th placed team has outperformed the 5th over 7 games but that just isn't good enough TV.

Why don't we go the whole hog and put the entire league in a relegation play off? Right up the the very last game even the runaway leaders can get relegated, what drama!

I think Rovers have enough to survive this artificial made for TV drama but it has to be the last time that it takes place.
