Although excellent news, surely this is worthless should we get relegated? I think the RFL needs to alter the void contract situation for relegated clubs. You could realistically spend lots of money and time developing a player, only for him to become a free agent due to relegation.
I would rather it be a situation where if relegated, you still have the players contracted, but the release clause is in the clubs favour, so the club can void who`s contract they want. Thus clearing all the high earners to soften the blow.
