Squad for Wigan : Sat Mar 31, 2018 1:35 pm

I’ve been surprised over the years how few changes we tend to make between Good Friday and Easter Monday. Mind you, a few are injured or getting up to speed still in the cases of Tickle and Vaivai. Does anybody know if Cator or Williams are fit? I haven’t seen either listed as playing for York and I assume they are too old for the academy.

Ah, okay - thanks. I think Williams started the year with an injury, but not sure on his situation now. It’ll be tough for him to get much game time this year, i’d have thought, with Vaivai arriving and Oakes and Dagger seemingly well regarded. (Edit - Williams and Cator are still only 19. I thought they were both ~21 for some reason).

Wardill had a set back too, iirc.

Surprised we are not resting a lot more players with the Widnes game in mind.

Last year Rovers made massive changes for the Easter Monday game at Toulouse and a young team still put up a good display. The big guns returned the following Saturday and we went to Leigh and knocked them out of the cup.

Hopefully we can compete at Wigan and McGuire, Lunt etc will return for Widnes.

I think the players we would have rested are already out so I don't think we could have made a lot of changes really

Agree.
Also don't think we're in a position to pick and chose games to rest players.
We need to try build momentum and the only way to do that is to play our best available team.

Oldham will be intresting to see if they rest some players.

Hello, rhinos fan coming in peace. Just doing a bit of research for my dream team. What’s the deal with Rob Mulhern, saw he didn’t play v hull and not included in the squad for tomorrow. Is he injured or just out of favour? Thought he’d been playing really well for you.

Slight calf tear - expected back for Widnes.

According to Blunderside the only change is Kavanagh out, Clarkson promoted off the bench and Johnson into the 17.

For all the boasting of a big squad from the club it does make you wonder how cack some people have to play (Lee, Salter, Marsh for example) before changes will be made.

I also recall Sheens claiming Tickle wasn’t up to speed a couple of weeks ago; but would be used in the Easter period yet he’s not in the squad today. Makes me wonder what the point of his signing was.

For me, today was an opportunity to rest as many as possible use maximum squad rotation and target the Widnes game for a win.
