Bizarrely, if we did manage to beat Leeds (we probably won't, but still), we would not have fallen very far below realistic preseason expectations in terms of position and points.
Expectations were low, we won't meet them and if we lose to Leeds the spoon is still on. But given the trauma of an awful preseason, the direst predictions on Campese's fitness proving correct, getting bounced out of the cup by Oldham, Peacock's determination/obstinancy in not adding to a thin and injury-ravaged squad, and one of the longest interim appointments in coaching history, it actually could have been worse.
