A Reply from HULL FC regarding the £1 Donation : Tue Mar 17, 2009 8:52 pm
Phil,
Thanks for your e mail to Jon of 13th March.
Every year we choose a charity to promote as our charity of the year. For 2009 we chose Children in Need and as a club we will be supporting that organization on many levels. One of the ways in which we chose to help this year was, whilst freezing pass prices and match day prices for the rest of the season, to increase the match day prices for one game and then make a donation from the company based on the additional income from this game. To make the most effect in terms of impact for the charity we decided to choose our biggest game of the year, that being the home derby against Hull KR.
To clarify your point about the donation being voluntary, you are correct donations are voluntary, the donation that Hull FC are making as a company to Children in Need is voluntary. The extra £1 that is being added to match day ticket prices for that game is not voluntary, that is the price of entry to the ground for that game and only you can decide if you think that that is a fair price to pay.
Thanks for your e mail Phil, I hope I have answered your question, I also hope you decide to attend the derby for what promises to be a great day in this years fixture list.
Regards,
Antony Sutton
