No it couldn't or else it would have been given as such. I must say when I was there I was surprised it had been disallowed bu ton returning home and watching it Sky+ it was clear. This was illustrated be the fact that there was only one of the commentary team who said that it should have been a try and his opinions are well known to be laughable.
