He'd burned all his bridges at Rovers and wasn't ever going to happen.

I'm glad to see him resurrect his career, because he always obviously had talent, my take is that is was probably forty per cent the coaching staff's fault and sixty his.

The other interesting player last night was Lee Penny, a couple of seasons ago could not catch a cold & nearly out of the game. But a short spell in the lower league & look at him now? Warrington showed faith in him, just hope our coaches remember that when dealing with Dixon.

I thought his brother Kevin Penny looked good as well... :D

If Rugby League Rocks, then Hull KR is its Soul.

Re: Opener versus Cas Tigers : Fri Feb 05, 2016 1:01 pm
Walker left out of the 19 man squad for the Cas game along with Holker and Shaw.

Expect Dixon and Mulhern to miss out on the final 17 imo.

If rumours are correct which I don't agree with Dixon will miss out, I would prefer Tilse to miss out also he offers nothing to the team in my opinion.
The coach has already stated that Lawler will play hooker(curve ball) so we shall have Donaldson and Boudebza on the bench, both very honest and players I personally like but size is a worry yet again.

He should be on the wing for this game. Chester seems frightened to death about players and their lack of being able to defend. A good coach would of rectified that.
From the outside looking in, this is one coach under pressure without a ball even being kicked! His team selection will probably be more towards damage limitation than a team that can actually win.
I may be wrong, and I hope so. But by Sunday night I invisage all of us on here moaning about how crap the team has performed, and Chester blaming injuries and needing to work harder in training.

My starting 17 for the opener versus Cas Tigers:

Cockayne

Mantomato, Minns Thornley, Sio ;

Marsh , Kelly;

Green Lawler , Allgood;

Blair , Horne;

Clarkson;

Bench: French John , Tilse, Greenwood & Donaldson

Changes to my original selection in Red and based on how the last week or so has unfolded.

Couldn't agree more. I read in tonight's Hull daily mail that Chester says Dixon needs to improve his defence before been selected, well on that basis he could drop at least half the team.
Dixons defence may not yet be up to scratch but his pace more than makes up for that imo, plus like you say...a good defence coach would probably have helped him overcome his shortcomings in that department by now.
I'm losing more and more faith in Chester (not that I had a great deal of faith in him in the first place) and looking at ours and Castleford's team for Sundays game, my heart as always, says Rovers but my head says otherwise.
Chris Chester has already upset James Green as a result of poor selection and now it appears Dixon as well, I fear a few more may well become disillusioned before to long.

If what i heard is true you could add Albert Kelly to the list of players unhappy with Chester
