So he feels depressed over the death of his Mum ..yes been there for Mum and Dad and yes it really hurts and for me like many it takes some getting over. So on Mothers day he decides to take cocaine . Why if he has not taken it before would he suddenly decide he needed to do this, Where and how did he know where to get it from? if he has not done it before did hot walk the streets asking people how he can get it? come on get real he and the club are in damage limitation mode and sadly using his mums death as an excuse for that alone he deserves all he gets

I've never done Cocaine but I can guarantee that if I was on a night out and i wanted some, it wouldn't be difficult for me to find it.

That is the part of this whole issue for me. I do feel for the kid however class A drugs aren’t sat in Asda next to the vitamin C and Cod Liver Oil. Regardless of his depression he made a concerted effort to obtain an illegal substance. Now this was either a snap decision on the day or it was already in his possession, either way we probably wont find out but he has crossed a line and will need to take whatever ban comes his way

This society these days makes me despair. Everyone’s turning into Fannys.

Very enlightened. With drivel like that it makes people who are ill embarrassed to seek help. Maybe if you, your family or a friend has "problems" you'll have a rethink, but then again perhaps not.

Terry Newton what a fanny he was.

Oh please......another tree hugger that has a hissy fit when we don’t toe the line how everyone should by the liberal left.
Some of us have had an upbringing from pre war parents who had a grittier look on life, that past down to me of course. I care a lot about close family and friends. But when somebody is a bloody idiot by taking substances he knows he shouldn’t, the ‘oh woe is me card’ doesn’t wash.
Terry newton’s death was a tragedy and I’ve had a close family member who jumped off the bridge without even a sign anything was wrong. If there going to do it, there’s diddly squat you can do about it.

Oh dear another member of the nasty party, thought that ended with Thatcher, sounds like you had it tough though, shame compassion wasn't passed down as well as true grit.

My parents and grandparents weren't brought up in the lap of luxury either nor was I.

Just as a matter of interest are you one of the four Yorkshireman? Did you get up eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work?

You point out that you had a family member sadly committed suicide but there wasn't a sign anything was wrong, however in your previous post you suggest that people should sort out their own problems. Perhaps if he or she had the confidence to seek help from others this tragedy may have been avoided.

Don't think there is a wrong or right viewpoint on this it's a personal thing? I choose to see the lad who made a poor choice and will probably pay a huge price and have nothing but sympathy for him.

Putting aside Minns failed drug test .

You refer to people with genuine mental health issues as “Fanny’s”. Yet you say a member of your family jumped off the bridge .

If that person had approached you and stated they felt suicidal would you have called them a fanny? , you then go on to contradict yourself and call Terry Newton’s suicide a tragedy .
Terry Newton’s suicide was a tragedy but your family member jumping off the bridge was diddly squat you could do about it .

Wow .

Why are we discussing mental health when this is about drug taking? I’m unsure why one is considered a legitimate reason for the other.
