I wasn't slagging him off was just saying he's not a hard hitting impact type player. He should be paired up with green or walker not mulhern.

green has looked a bit of a pudding when I've seen him. Does a decent run then you don't see him for about the next 3 sets. Similar to how chris green has been for us but he is getting better. Not sure if it is a fitness/stamina issue

I like Green but I don't think he's as good as some make out I know he wants an NRL gig and supposed to be Newcastle bound but I personally don't think he's good enough

I agree Frankie. Green's a half decent larker but a bit too head up, full ahead and one dimensional for me. His defensive timing and overall defensive intensity is a bit hit and miss on occasions too, like on Saturday when he and Walker were made to look ordinary and Micky Mouse on the goal line for George Griffin's try, Salfords 4th.

Could be that these core assets are deemed perfect for a WIP development project by a struggling NRL team like Newcastle.

Indeed. Thankfully they didn't bin radford and houghton as you were suggesting a little over a year ago

What people thought last April

Exactly right and it proves beyond doubt how difficult it is to build over a long period of time from ground zero. It's a good job Pearson had a longer term view than even me. KR will need the same hence the 5 year plan presumably. There's too much energy wasted talking about sacking coaches (me included last April). It's the player quality in the squad that has by far the biggest impact on results which is why the players at FC take far more credit for their current position in the league than does Radford.

I never hold that idea, it seems to be who the coach is whether or not the fans think its him or not. LR has to take credit for his teams good position as much as he had to take criticism for the previous poor performances.

Liverpool FC are a classic for this, they have pilloried Rodgers for his poor performances (regardless of finishing 2nd) yet Klopp seems to be able to do no wrong whilst still turning out some awful performances

The players are picked by the coach, and ultimately it is the coach who will (rightly so) live and die by the results and performances.
