I never hold that idea, it seems to be who the coach is whether or not the fans think its him or not. LR has to take credit for his teams good position as much as he had to take criticism for the previous poor performances.
Liverpool FC are a classic for this, they have pilloried Rodgers for his poor performances (regardless of finishing 2nd) yet Klopp seems to be able to do no wrong whilst still turning out some awful performances
The players are picked by the coach, and ultimately it is the coach who will (rightly so) live and die by the results and performances.
